Ember Crown Saga

Ember Crown Saga is a proper mobile RPG that respects your time without dumbing anything down. You build a party, learn each character's quirks, and work through a campaign that actually bothers to write real dialogue. I spent the first hour just enjoying the pacing of the story before combat even got hard.

Battles are turn-based, so you can play them while distracted and still make smart calls. There's a decent depth to the skill trees, and the difficulty ramps at a fair rate. Boss fights want you to think about turn order rather than just spam your strongest attack.

My only gripe is that inventory management gets fiddly late-game. But the writing and the class variety kept me hooked well past the point where I'd normally drift off.
